Ingredients
1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Instruction
Heat the olive oil in a skillet and sauté the onion until soft and translucent.
Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Transfer the onion and garlic to a slow cooker.
Add the chopped cabbage, broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
Stir everything well to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours or on high for 2–3 hours until the cabbage is tender.
Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
Method
The slow cooking process allows the cabbage and onions to become soft and flavorful while absorbing the rich broth. The seasonings blend together to create a comforting and savory dish that can be enjoyed as a soup or side dish.
